Happy Holidays!

Hey hey hey!! =)

I'm back (and still alive)! Hahaha.

As usual, stop by our site oceanovox.bravehost.com, check out our cards on Flickr, and say "hello!"

Wow, Howl's been rocking this project hard, and it's time for me to get back into action. (New Year's resolution!)  I found some cards that I did a while back, so I will be dropping them off in either Texas or LA. (99102103, 104, and 105).  Pictures will be linked when I get them uploaded onto my computer!

I hope you all are enjoying the holidays, and Happy New Year!

I feel guilty typing in an empty entry like this, but I just want to give "a Shout and a Howl" ;) and let all of you know that Howl and I are still here, and that Oceanovox is going strong.

Our lives are extremely hectic at the moment, but we will have new cards up -- As Soon As (humanely) Possible.

Love,

~Shout

UPDATE: Yes!! hahaha ^^

I left cards 32, 35, and 36 in downtown LA this weekend.

As a heads up, we also have a blogring (see the side of the screen).

And to the people I recently left comments to: sorry there's a whole bunch of gibberish above and below my comment... I don't know why it's there, or if it even is there anymore, but yeah.  Okay, I'll stop now, as I seem to be spazzing out.. back to studying for finals. ='(

Update 2: ...okay, WHY is there a big, ugly blank space above my entry that I cannot get rid of?!

We'll be back after these messages... ;)

www.oceanovox.bravehost.com

Hey there!

I'd just like to say that Howl and I have been extremely bogged down with college apps and lovely school work *sarcasm-sarcasm* as of late. Therefore, we haven't been making as many cards as we have over the summer. Hopefully, card production will pick up again after January. (Howl has made a few these past weeks, so head on over to our website to view them). I'll try to do some over the Holidays.

Yay, Holidays!! I love December.

Have a good one guys,

Shout

Moments like these

VISIT OUR OFFICIAL SITE

***

There are two little boys and their parents in the lobby as I enter the diner for breakfast with a few friends.  The two brothers are jumping with excitement as they watch their mother attempt to win a stuffed animal from the claw game machine.

Unrelated, yes?

A while later, after breakfast, I am seated in the lobby, waiting for someone.  A lady in about her 60's approaches the machine, and begins playing.  She gets a stuffed Batman on her first try.  "Ha ha!"  she exclaims, and I cannot help but give her a grin; her enthusiasm is contagious.

I thought that was that, but she comes back, and sticks another dollar into the machine.  She wins a hat.  "Wow,"  I say.  "You're good."  The lady smiles, and puts on the hat.

As she is about to leave, the lady holds the Batman out to me.  "Here," she winks, "you can have it."  I had not expected that at all.  Erm...  I wondered if it would be right to accept something like that.  I protested with a laugh, "No, no, you won it.  You should keep it."  After all, better safe than sorry.

She insists and holds it out again, with an expectant look.  Oh dear.  Well, I had not asked for it, and she had insisted, even after I'd refused.  Better not make a scene -  refusing a well-meaning elderly lady.  So I took the Batman, and thanked her.  "Have a nice day!"  I said as she walked out the door.

Oh boy.  There I was, sitting with a stuffed Batman in the lobby.

But, as Oceanovox proves, Destiny does funny things.  The two little boys that I had spied earlier were running towards the game machine, having finished breakfast.  "Daddy!" one of them exclaimed, pressing his face against the glass, "It's gone!"  Poor kid, I chuckled, remembering myself as a child.  "The batman's  gone!"  He repeats disappointedly.

Oh.  The batman.

So I got up and handed him the stuffed toy.  "Here you go,"  I said.  The little boy reached out for it, but hesitantly glanced at his dad.  I turned to his parents, explaining that a lady had given the batman to me earlier, but that his son could have it.  "Are you sure?"  they ask, surprised.  I am blushing as the couple thank me profusely.  The brothers can hardly contain themselves as they race around the lobby, making their batman fly.

During the entire exchange, I was thinking about Project Vox.

That day, I was going to leave a scrap of paper with our website address in the lobby, as a: "Hey!  Something Oceanovox-ish happened here!!"  But I had already attracted attention, and didn't want people to figure me out.

All in all, I hope that you enjoy discovering and sharing our project as much as Howl and I enjoy giving out the cards and meeting all of you.

In other news, I created a new Yahoo! photo album account, since the album on our site has exceeded its limit.  The link is as follows, and can also be found on our website:

** Edit:

Randomly left slips of paper w/ the Oceanovox site when I passed by UC Irvine this weekend, and also @ South Coast Plaza...

Summer Rush

GO TO OUR OFFICIAL SITE
And please do comment in the guestbook and the forums!

It has been a while since I was last on here, but I kept quite busy! I'll be busy with college applications the next few months, so I'm trying my best to make as many cards during the summer. Anyways, I put in extra effort this time... if you want to see the cards, as a preview of sorts, before you explore our site, click the links below to see the corresponding card, with the location of where I dropped it off! I'm so nice. ^_^

Card 38:  Fingerhut Gallery at Laguna Beach
Card 39: Borders at the Lakewood Mall
Card 40: On top of some As I Lay Dying shirts in the Hot Topic at the Lakewood Mall
Card 41: On top of the As I Lay Dying shirts in Spencer's at the Lakewood Mall... I'm not advertising a band here... Heh-heh.
Card 42: Shelf at Borders at the Cerritos Towne Center, with Dreiser books
Card 43: Starbucks at the Cerritos Towne Center with the chocolate covered espresso beans. Mmm...
Card 44: Walmart at the Cerritos Towne Center in the rack with Sin City DVDs.
Card 45: Art aisle at Borders at the Cerritos Towne Center
Card 46: Table in Starbucks at the Cerritos Towne Center
Card 47: Walmart at the Cerritos Towne Center, rack with V for Vendetta DVDs... the movie has a purpose similar to ours, I suppose.

My favorites here are Cards 41, 42, and 45. In case you're in a rush and don't want to look at all of them. =)

I need to get around more... out of my small town, at least.

HOWL
